Okay, I definitely believe in Western Astrology.
I am a Taurus sun capricorn moon. I don't believ in all the other planets as I can't find a correlation I can agree on but I know for sure the sun and moon combination shows undeniable patterns in people.
I love Scorpio women (Christy Hemme, Rebecca Romijn and Radha Mitchell) and Cancerian Moon women are beautiful (Christy Hemme again, Bridget Fonda and Rebecca de mornay). This is enough for me to believe it in itself.
So in Chinese astrology I am a Wood Ox. Apparently its like a flexible version of a Taurus that likes to expand and grow.
for me there are too many factors about people and relationships to start believing this too. Genetics play a part, as well as culture and upbringing.
So, peeps, give me some examples of compatibility in Chinese Astrology and I can see if they match with people I get along with in real life.
If I see some patterns and good examples, I'll take the Chinese zodiac seriously. Apparently I get along with a Water Pig but I need some help here guys and gals.

Re: I haven't bought all this yet
Sun, January 18, 2009 - 8:39 PMActually a wood ox resonates to the capricorn side. Taurus is the serpent in eastern astrology. So your "fate" or month of birth is a snake. The ox is a capricorn in eastern astrology. There is so much to learn about astrology. It describes gods will you know. Eastern astrology and the elements it denotes describe human interaction quite well. Western astrology describes the self in great detail. So to TRULY understand astrology both systems need to be embraced. You are thus a Taurus Wood Ox. Anyone ever tell you that you "have it all" so to speak?
Don't worry about "buying it all". For astrology to have any validity for the person you have to get a reading for your specific time and date of birth. For both eastern and western astrology. Generalities are worse than useless. -

I'm not sure if people have said I "have it all" but if you can refine or define that maybe people have in a different way.
For me, I still don't "buy it all" because it's a complex subject that is not correlating to my vast understanding of people.
I can believe in what people call the sun sign and moon sign because it's almost like the different personalities for both sides of the brain, ego and id.
When I looked at my natal chart it said Mercury in Aries, Venus in Aries, Mars in Gemini, Ascendant in Gemini and I just thought "What about upbringing, what about cultures and genetics, what about the areas of life where people are not that complicated.
I regularly go to the gym to keep myself fit in London. I look around at all the muscle headed morons who are self loathing, simple minded, self conscious and weary of every guy and what they are thinking and I just think to myself "Does complex western and eastern Astrology and the zodiac apply to these simple minded morons who act like they are just a few IQ levels above apes?"
Now, maybe I think too much rather than enjoy life, but this is who I am, I like to understand everything and I need logic and patterns to see the way. I am open minded enough to take anything on board as long as its not Bullshit.
So, Christopher, because on other topics you express a vast knowledge on the subject of human nature, I will probably be asking you quite a lot of questions, is that alright with you dude? -

Re: I haven't bought all this yet
Tue, January 20, 2009 - 6:51 PMthe ascendant describes the superego the sun sign the ego and the moon sign is the ID in western astrology. And yes there is a great knowledge of human nature Venus in Gemini 1st degree same as William Shakespeare, hence the knowledge of human nature. Quite well to ask.
In truth western astrology describes what you are and eastern astrology describes how you get there by human relations. As such they both require some intuitive study. Being a yin water serpent astrology comes easily to me by comparison to that of others. Rather than i bombard you with web links etc. lets go easy into the darker knowledges. -

Re: I haven't bought all this yet
Wed, January 21, 2009 - 4:47 PMWell, I did a bit more studying and investigating and I believe I have a dragon or two in my month, day and hour. I can't remember exactly but one of them was a metal dragon which sort of sounds cool even if it isn't.
Wooden oxes, metal dragons, Venus in Aries, Gemini Ascendants, Scorpios from the planet of the apes.....
If this all makes sense and I can see patterns and relations that coincide, I'll be quite amazed and humbled by it all. Knowledge is power!
So, if the Chinese signs relate to human relations, is there a strict principle of which "animal" can relate to. I briefly checked friends and family and I see no pattern so far with the year animal signs. One friend is year of the dragon, another is the horse, my bro who is like a friend is the year of the sheep and a lot of friends slightly older are the year of the rat.
I think I'm meant to relate well to Roosters but doesn't the element play a part too?
Heres an example Wooden Ox and a Wood Rat? Would you consider that a good match?
