Re: Pigs?
Sat, February 26, 2005 - 6:35 AMWell, that makes two... would it make it more appealing if I'd written "Boars?" instead?
I've got a boar story... ten years ago I found a wild boarskin for sale in a market. I'm not usually an impulse-buyer, collector, or even much of a shopper, and it was expensive and way over my budget, but I snapped it up without thinking. When I got home, nobody could figure out why I would want the thing - it IS a little grotesque... it even has its hooves still attached. But I liked it. I even used to sleep with it as a blanket.
It was only last year I realized I'm a pig.

Re: Pigs?
Tue, March 1, 2005 - 1:58 AMother than that I don't FEEL like a pig. I think I actually must have known I was a pig just from sitting in Chinese restaurants as a child staring at the placemats, but it just never stuck.
Although I did swear off bacon after watching the cartoon version of Charlotte's Web when I was about 7....
of course, that lasted about two weeks, because I do love to eat... -
-
Re: Pigs?
Tue, March 1, 2005 - 7:12 PMthose placemats are pretty handy for determining Chinese astrology...
i spent a lot of my years denying the "Pig Thing". but the more familiar i become, the more i realize what a wonderful it is sign to have.
Pigs (the people) are considered to be friendly and the animals were counted as sacred for many years.
but, really, since i'm new to this, i should let somebody else speak to the Pig qualities.
oh, and don't forget growing up, i never minded being a P.I.G. (pretty intelligent girl)! HELL...i still am!!
-
Re: Pigs?
Wed, March 2, 2005 - 1:10 PMSometimes the books or the placemats talk about the pigs generosity to the point that we sound wealthy or bon vivants.
Look at it another way:
Do you find yourself to be generous with whatever time and resources you have? Do you enjoy helping/treating/sharing with others. Worry about others, if they have enough help?
And then, do you sometimes find yourself a little ticked off at being used? Or suddenly realize that you are considered "Mom" among your friends?
Le Pigge.
(Actually, it sounds like I'm describing a more material version of Pisces. And, like Pisces, there is the danger among lesser Pigs--none of us here, of course--that some enjoy the melodrama of being the sacrificer and martyr, and may enjoy being relied upon--and then indulgently complaining about it.
Not that I would ever do that!
My co-worker however.....!) -
-
Re: Pigs?
Thu, March 10, 2005 - 4:13 PMcomplain about it? tsk - what bad form.
yah, I'm Pisces, too... never had the "Mom" experience, though.
what's up with your co-worker? -

Petty Pigs
Thu, March 17, 2005 - 10:02 AMShe, like many of us, has a great deal of problems with her family--many users, dependents (co-dependents), or folks that have just become used to the fact that C does all of the work, and will come up with the money for the bills, or sudden splurges.
She, like many of us, likes to vent about it. A lot. First thing in the morning when I come into work uncaffinated.
She, like....god, i hope not me...seems to take great pride in being the lynchpin of the family.
Ah! Perhaps we have found the problem of the Negative Pig.
An Active Pig helps others. A Passive Pig gets used by others.
A Negative Pig (or Pisces) lets herself get used, gets into a position of being relied upon...and then uses this to dump guilt on others, and pull their chains to call in favors--or at least praise.
Hmm. Perhaps I'm describing negative Pisces more than negative Pigs. Does anyone have any problems with Pigs in their lives that they can share?
The other problems with Pigs is supposedly overindulgence in physical treats when unhappy or just bored.

THE SENTIENT CLASSICIST
The degree of permeability in the Pisces/Pig subject is so elevated as to cause him or her a real burden. This person feels more deeply than we do. Pisces/Pigs are gentle souls with unlimited ambition. They are sensualists who love luxe and care immensely for tradition and custom. I'd say without hesitation that the Pisces/Pig's biggest stumbling block is the modern world. He is old-fashioned and firmly rooted in time-honored ways. Shortcuts irritate the Pisces/Pig. Nicknames grate on his nerves. Gadgets bore him. Some people accuse this person of being a clinging vine in matters of the heart. It's fully understandable because the Pisces born Pig needs the security of full-time affection and tenderness in order to survive. Without fervent full time love, he feels shipwrecked and alone. He will go to great lengths to hang onto an object of desire. Nothing, for the Pisces/Pig, can replace true love. His sex drive is known for being a tad over the top but...

THE MERRY MEGALOMANIAC
This mix creates a being of infinite talent and aspirations to match. The sky is the limit. Capricorn/Pigs never see themselves as less than monstrously famous and hugely wealthy. These folks are grandeur specialists, whose personal goals of cosmic proportions don't stand in the way of their equally epic egos. There is, in the Capricorn/Pig makeup, a certain refreshing purity of desire. No Capricorn/Pig ever underestimates him- or herself. Some claim that such a clearheaded attitude toward blatant self-seeking ambition is healthy. I make no judgment, but I will tell you that most of Capricorn/Pigs I have had the pleasure of knowing have contributed something enriching to my life. This subject undertakes vast artistic projects and gives generously to cultural institutions. The Capricorn/Pig is a faithful and passionate lover. But he is also a smothering one. Possessive is a mild word to describe how they cling to the object of their desire. Scenes. Rows. Rages. Fits. They don't get angry often, but when they do.... run for your life.

Re: Pigs?
Wed, September 26, 2007 - 5:53 PMWell guys, u should know that in the oriental astrology the personality is compared with the one of a wild animal not of a domestic one. Boars, not pigs, are still considered in the japonese astrology as the simbol of death and spirituality. Selfish in their own unique way, with the gift of speach, that can reach to the top of the world and decend to the gutter! Boar is compared with scorpio, boath signs are vengefull in their negative! I'm a water boar born in the hour of the metal serpent and in the day of metal monkey. I know few boars nd they are not the sweet guys comercial astrology speaks of! Oh, i forgot, i'm a sagitarius, moon in virgo, with capricorn ascendent. -
-
Re: Pigs?
Wed, September 26, 2007 - 5:59 PMBy the way, i forgot, boar natural elemente is water yin. An element that reprepresents the spirit and slow destruction. Water in china represents death and destruction. Its a bit strange that the boar as such description in modern chinese astrology tests, isnt it? -
-
Re: Pigs?
Wed, September 26, 2007 - 6:10 PMOne more thing. When buda called the representatives of the animal kingdom, why would a pig show up? Its not wild. And do u know that when a pig escapes captivity, it becames wild in just a matter of weaks? Its fur and its preys grows up, and it becames violent! Its seems that pig have the adaptable capacity of its wild counterpart, the boar! Well, pigs actually are tammed boars! -

Thu, October 4, 2007 - 1:22 PMMan born under the element of boar are way diferente than women of the same sign, they can be extremly violente and suspicios of everyting, women boar are more compeling, but in their negative way, are liars, deciving, it depends if the person is positive or negative due to its life.
No, u are a Metal boar, if u were born in august, them, u were born in the month of the monkey, otherwise, in july, goat. About ur secret animal, roster natural element is metal yin, but it may not be ur hour element. The wester astrology is diferent, so dont mix it. Look insted for ur jupiter sign, afterall, the chinese zodiac goes around jupiter march trough the solar sytem.
Rouster are intelectual individuals, wich brings an intelectual side to the boar, making im more studier, or with a bigger disposition to comunicate and socialize. But keep in mind that the day element can change all that, and make the person introvertid.

Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 5:14 PMSnake personalities are determined by factors other than the sign itself in some way. I myself was born in July a goat month and a rat hour as well. It may be that both your birth month and ascendant are somewhat conducive to friendships with pigs. I myself am somewhat nice to pigs as well, being a water serpent myself. But I realize a few realities any snake should consider. Pigs, every Pig is somewhat put off by snakes. Also the Pig is the natural prey of the snake. This is not to say that every snake makes prey of Pigs for that will kick in the "negative" Tiger karma. Which is usually why the year of the tiger is very bad for snakes. It is best to realize that at best Pigs present a challenge we snakes should very much consider. For myself I can work well with most Pigs, as I make my prey amongst those who are very evil. This may or may not include Pigs. In fact it can include any zodiac sign. The point about Pigs is that as snakes we are never that much befriended by them as much as other personality types. Where we are seen as charming by many the Pig perceives us as shady. I harbor no specific resentment at Pigs as I am not by nature interested in posing challenges to others as a rule, however I choose to make my friends with people other than Pigs or earth or fire element types. But that's just me. -

Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 5:36 PMBesides dragons and rats are very much like snakes but pigs like them ? will pigs hate us even if there is no reason like is it just divine oppisiton or something lol -
-
Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 5:46 PMPigs fear snakes the same way we fear a mortal enemy. On some level. What is best is to not be a threat to others unless you are challenged. It is not so much a divine enemy thing as a balance thing in nature. The snake is much too sophisticated for the simple honest pig. This sound more realistic? -
-
Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 5:51 PMAlso find a compatible western sign combo as well for bliss ;-) Apolgies dear Pigs for my diatribe, but us snakes do need such affection.
-
-
Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 5:49 PMYes dragons and some rats are friendly to Pigs. Roosters are fun once you get beyond their abrasive personalities. Oxen are the best but are somewhat stupid or slow witted for anyone with a rat monkey or dragon ascendant. Thing is you should find a nice monkey with a compatible earth element and settle down, as I did. Monkeys are the secret friend of snakes, did you know. -
-
Re: Pigs?
Sat, May 31, 2008 - 8:02 PMdear snakes this is said with goodheartedness! where have all the pigs gone on this topic, it seems that the snakes have come to the pigs topic, to talk about themselves being snakes, isn't the snake topic section enough!..perhaps the answer is that attracting attention is a snake thing not a pig thing :)
-
-
-
-
Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 5:44 PMOk negative tiger Karma simply means that the Tiger defends the Pig. If you hunt and kill the pig as pigs are normally honest simple people, then the Tiger will tend to seek you out to deal with you. It means that THE YEAR OF THE TIGER WILL BE A BUMMER FOR BAD SNAKES. As you are a monkey ascendant you will tend to use your monkey intelligence to deal with Pigs somewhat intellectually. Your ascendant sign is a major influence on your personality. It is the outward face you present to the world and combined with your sun sign and other aspects of your personality makes you a unique human being, different from virtually all others. So even if you are a snake you present as a monkey. The ascendant tends to show the world the type of person others see, and the sun sign the character or true self. This can cause conflict and mood swings, especially if the ascendant and sun signs are not compatible. Frequently, those who wish to hide behind a personna will use their rising sign as a mask. How often do you hear people saying ‘I am not a bit like my sign’, but when their planetary placements and rising sign are properly investigated, and an objective viewpoint reached, they really are true to type. So in effect you may be setting a clever mind trap for your Pig friends, one in which you remain at a distance from emotionally as Monkeys are very smart. Just don't outsmart yourself! And be careful of tigers. LOL. -
-
Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 6:04 PMwow thanks a lot very informative and insightful i understand now , dont worry i wont go after pigs i am rarely offensive but i am very defensive . Like if some one messes with me and i feel wronged then i am in my worst state revenge mode i wont rest until i destroy the the opponet in some way . Im not mean but i hate injustice who doesn,t ? Yeah i had a few bad experiences with tigers but overall they seem decent human beings its only usually misunderstandings but like i said i dont fear them or their claws but i wont attack them either . As for pigs i am attracted as friends and would like to exchange ideas with them to understand my oppisite side ature its all in good fun . But yes i love monkeys i had many best friends in the sign they really lighten up a snake ! -
-
Re: Pigs?
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 6:15 PMokay one last question i have a monkey ascendant so do i attract monkeys with that ? in other words do you attract people whos main sign is that like your ascendant ? -
-
Re: Pigs?
Tue, April 15, 2008 - 2:57 PMYes your ascendant is what you show the world so it is what you attract. Here is the thing. Be very careful you choose a monkey who is emotionally compatible with you. In other words pleasing enough to you and with compatible elements. The thing is in the relationship it will be the monkey who will remain interested for the relationship to work. So you must please the monkey not expect to be pleased constantly (as some snakes do). Either a rat monkey or dragon ascendant will attract a monkey. -
-
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Pigs?
Sat, May 31, 2008 - 6:31 PMThe Rat year 2008 is not a good year for snakes: Rat is in the Water group. Snake and Horse are in the Fire group. Fire is afraid of Water. They said Horse will die after eating the waste of Rat. Weasel like Rat can fight and kill Snake.
The Pig unlike the other 11 signs is more compatible with most of the signs, the snake and pig can enjoy a friendship depending on the hour, ascendent, the four pillars and other aspects etc.
I find that many chinese astrologers focus on mundane fundamental astrology rather than esoteric astrology. I do appreciate Suzanne White's take on chinese astrology but for me it is still very fundamental even with her western/chinese double sign book. This site I find is authentic and presents a more in-depth analysis of chinese astrology chineseastrologyonline.com/2008.htm and also Raymond Lo who has written alot of books on Chinese Astrology, Feng Shui www.raymond-lo.com/.
Interesting though there are some pigs with snake in their astrology chart and some snakes with pig in their astrology chart.
Suzanne White presents the pig as naive but the chinese believe the pig cannot be fooled by any animal, thus it's reluctance to snakes, the pig often perceives the truth but does not want to think wrong of people, thus a pig knowing that a person is bad can either walk away from them or let them into their life.
The real thing that angers the pig, is that the pig will give a person a thousand chances after every wrong and some animals will take advantage of that, but like the bear, never push or corner a boar, the snake can be powerless to the wrath of the boar, the boar is the other side of the pig that is exposed when the pig is pushed to it's limits, and this also works in with the pig's western sign equivalent being scorpio and the snake's western sign being taurus, they are opposites, one key element of pig's anger is wrath which is the equivalent to the scorpio sting.
Unfortunately some western chinese astrologers have portrayed the pig as a docile naive creature who can die from it's anger (incidentally any sign can die from anger - dying from stress and/or anger is not sign associated!).
The pig can be still and let the snake coil it's self around it but the boar in a state of anger, is not still and allows no animal to come near it without killing it first. The chinese for 100 of years have been well aware that the boar is a dangerous animal if provoked.
I am just writing this so people do not become to comfortable with the pig being friendly, charitable, docile and naive because you may be shocked if you get the other side of them and both snake and pig have negative traits and one of snake's is fickleness which it cannot afford to display around an angry boar, even though the pig will be aware of this and treat the snakes's fickleness like other chinese animals's negative traits with a philosophical perspective that all these negative trait's are challenges of for us all including the pig itself, so the passiveness of the pig is not naivety it is caring and wisdom. Pigs are too humble to throw their depth of understanding in your face........the pig is emotionally sophisticated when balanced like the snake.
The pig in the earth rat year 2008 is fortunate in romance as long as it uses it's innate wisdom in situations and acts upon it's intuition, pigs can say a gentle 'no' and not let the boar go to war in relationships this year.
Signs born in a metal year have a much easier time in the earth rat year 2008, than any of the other elements, fire, water, wood and earth.
Metal pigs will have a better time this year than last year, some chinese astrologers have predicted. -

Re: Pigs?
Sat, February 21, 2009 - 7:00 AMI can agree with this.
found out my mum and dad were both born in the year of the earth pig and my sis in the water pig. There is a definitely a similarity in the way they deal with things compared to the rest of the family but I certainly wouldn't refer to them as softies or pushovers.
My Dad has remarried to an Irish woman and has taken on the role of looking after his other children whilst she goes out and works as a school director. My dad is certainly a very passive person who prefers to get along with people who don't give him hassle.
But I've seen his tough side, especially when I was younger. He really isn't scared of anyone.
Just watch boars in wildlife documentaries - the lion/jaguar/tiger/panther will stalk the baby of the boar family, but the baby boar will run around squealing at the opposition, terrifying the predators with their courage. -
-
Re: Pigs?
Mon, February 23, 2009 - 2:56 PMOk going to break a few taboos here and state the case for pig VS Snake. Snake represents generative force the development of the self. Pig represents death and regeneration the sublimation of the self. Hence why pigs and snakes are always at odds. Pig sees how the GROUP will get things done snake sees how HE will get things done within the group perhaps but still the generative force rather than to sublimate himself.
SO snake will outshine pig whenever possible. Snake must outdo Pig in order to get by. Which puts snake in the aggressor role the predator. Pig must defend his principles hence Pig is the prey. The outcome is always snake kills Pig. Pig resents this as it represents starting over in a sort of way.
SO now comes the fun part. For pig and snake to get along snake must see the value of working within the group. Towards similar goals as pig. Survival for both as a goal. SO pig and snake can work together provided they have a minimal involvement. Best to keep snake busy at a LOT of tasks. This keeps snake away from hunting pig.
Here is the real thing. One side must usually cave in for the relationship to work. Pig can never make snake happy so snake would have to lower his standards. That isn't likely.
Snake and pig can get along in business with both working towards similar goals. But at the end of the day snake goes his way Pig goes another way.
The thing is snake kills pig tiger gets antsy and goes after snake the old karma thing. SO snake ideally expresses himself peacefully IF forcefully and does not actually KILL pig but directs Pig and Tiger is happy with it all. This would be a SMART evolved snake like myself would be this way. -

Tue, March 24, 2009 - 9:19 AMI am an Earth Pig, and my mother is a Metal Snake … we have never got along (she is very aggressive), but over last weekend my daughter pointed out that she is a Fire Snake, so we are not suppose to have a good relationship. My heart sank that day.
I don’t care for horoscopes.
But my daughter made me very upset, I think that she is searching for an excuse to lock me out of her life.
Because we are “not to suppose to get along”.
Can you inform me on Earth Pig/Aries mother (me) and
Metal Snake/Sagittarius (daughter) compatibility?
(English is my second language)
I am very upset. -

Re: Pigs?
Sat, March 28, 2009 - 3:07 AMhave a look at chinese.astrology.com/ there is a compatibility chart there which will perhaps see some compatibility there. Pigs are the mortal enemy of snakes and vice versa.
She is growing up.
