I know they all say the Snake is the Chinese equivalent of Taurus-which I don't really agree with, but it appears to be true in terms of compatibility.
I mean I think the Snake of the Chinese Zodiac is a lot more on the "mystical" side of life than Taurus is. Taurus is purely prosaic by nature, whereas Snakes are drawn towards depths and mysteries and are known to be one of the most profound signs of the Chinese Zodiac.(though it's amazing how Snake men and Taurus men both come across as born womanizers)
But anyway, if we were to agree that the Snake is indeed the Chinese equivalent of Taurus, and Scorpio of the Pig, as they all say, that would mean those born in the year of the Snake have a natural affiliation for those born in Scorpio, since those would have a Pig monthly ascendant.Right?
I wonder if that explains my occasional attractions towards Scorpio Tigers, despite the total lack of common points between Snakes and Tigers.
What do you think? Any experiences?

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Tue, January 20, 2009 - 3:49 PMI think there's no way to compare Western and Chinese Astrology.
To begin with, in the Chinese system "astrology" is a misnomer,
because in truth it is a system of numerology. In Chinese "astrology"
we are looking at earthly and heavenly branches and stems through
the lens of the five elements and yin-yang metaphysics.
In Western Astrology, we are looking at the appearance of the sky
from the from earth's point of view, but not usually the actual sky--
we typically are looking a seasons, because we don't take procession
into consideration. In Indian, Tibetan and certain other systems of astrology,
we're using sideral calculation which is a depiction of the sky from
earth's POV.
So in western astrology the signs, houses and planets placements are all
a matter of point of view, not existing things in any objective sense.
Any similarity to Chinese philosophy is entirely random and incidental. -

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Tue, January 20, 2009 - 6:46 PMOk there is one opinion. I have found through extensive study of both eastern and western astrology that western astrology describes the SELF very well, and eastern astrology describes the dynamics of human relationships. The western astrology tells you WHAT you are Eastern astrology describes HOW you get there. -

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Fri, January 30, 2009 - 2:39 PMI am a Snake in that system and the description fits me.
I am the bizarre Aries Sun \Pisces Moon combo.
I would have never associated the Snake with Taurus.
I find that they lack in subtle reasonning that angers me at times and an Aries arguing with a Taurus is a butting match.
Their simplistic reasonning drive me mad and I just charge, full blast, after five minutes of dumb mainstream chatter.
Their value system is also different. They are a lot about appearance and the surface value of things - like being valued by a rich boyfriend because it shows the world that they are worth something - and dumb sex.
Dumb sex with a side order of fries please, because they are gluttons.
I would really go with Scorpio on that one.
Arguing Snake
I'm already there! -

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Tue, February 3, 2009 - 7:34 PMPlease remember this brother serpent. Revel in your snakeness. The serpent is regarded in ancient egypt as the sign of genius hence its position on the head towards the frontal lobe. Also the snake was the FIRST ancient symbol for scorpio. It still holds true today the scorpion can "morph" into the dove the eagle the scorpion the lizard (not a good thing) OR a serpent. Not TRYING to give away any secrets here but a word to the wise. Serpents are clever as heck.
The thing is the tiger can be defeated easily enough. Just keep the tiger at a distance and strike if he attacks with your serpent speed. The Tiger will drop like a load of baggage ;-)
In real terms. Keep the tiger out of your business. if he makes aggressive moves, just respond VERY vitriolically holding nothing back (Something like...you ASSHOLE WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING) , When the tiger realizes he is in the open naked and exposed for being mistakenly aggressive he will just stop.
Tigers are nothing but aggressive punks with an ego problem most of the time. I recommend a good 9mm or 380 auto for a pocket pistol LOL. BTW I am kidding about the gunfire thing... right? -

I was just thinking in my head before reading this post that fuck.... All you got to do to a Tiger is beat it in its own game. I'm an Oxen though.... Tigers can be quite aggressive. -

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Wed, February 4, 2009 - 11:54 AMIn my earlier post I mentioned having this vitriolic dispute with a guy who had his year in the fire tiger.
I tried to get along and he constantly kept taking pot shots at me. He kept using sneering comments, arrogant gestures, and tried rallying people against me. I used indifferance to piss him off but all that resulted in was one fateful night.
I came back from a tae kwon do tournament (twas the world championships and I won silver) and I was in high spirits needless to say.
This shit for brains I'll just call "fire tiger" decided to take more aggressive verbal attacks to me unbeknownst to all my other mates that night.
Eventually I decked the guy and bust his lip open from one of his teeth. The asshole took this opportunity to try everything in his power to put me in trouble. the guy tried blackmailing me £50 for hitting him.
I don't know if all "fire tigers" are like this, but if they are, it'll be my pleasure to punch all their lights out.

Thu, February 5, 2009 - 7:53 AM>the tiger can be defeated
True, the Snake can defeat the Tiger in a one to one battle ... but it can be (and has been for me) a long and bloody battle ... is best avoided

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Wed, February 4, 2009 - 11:46 AMYou've most probably butted heads with a tauren that has an extroverted moon sign
extroverts naturally value outward things, like status, how someone dresses, how popular they are and introverts will refer to that as "shallow".
your pisces moon makes you essentially an emotional person at heart so you value considerate qualities in people and deeper connections
I have a capricorn moon and more times than not, I find myself incredibly attracted to a woman with a cancer moon. Very caring and incredibly beautiful - also naturally intelligent and dignified :). -

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Wed, February 4, 2009 - 3:33 PMCapricorn moon will respond to Cancerian moon because they are opposites. Opposites do attract. Cancerian moon offers the rich outward emotionalism while Capricorn moon is more cold and driven. Thus the two find something the other lacks. Which can lead to harmony. -

Re: Snakes and Scorpios
Thu, February 5, 2009 - 4:52 AMBy the way this is a tiger month. In an ox year. Means that it is a good month to lay low snakes. While this will be a really good year for us snakes February ain't the month for it.
