Dragon Question

I keep on running into Dragons, and was wondering what that might imply. It seems that allot of dragons are attracted to my personality. I am a Wood Oxen myself, being that wood rules over the Dragon might be a reason why.

Are Dragons intrigued by opposition? I was reading that it is impossible to win an argument with a Dragon, and that they intimidate anyone who challenges them.

I have been told by a couple of my Dragon buds that I am the only person who can put them into their place. I don't back down. Oxen will never be intimidated by opposition. We are both signs of power. It is in this that seems to be the attraction~ I am like the turtle diving into the Ocean to reach the mud on the bottom. I do give wonderful sound personal advice, and am straight forward. It seems as they pour their hearts out to me, and trust my judgment.

What message/lesion could Dragon be trying to teach me? Or vice versa?

These two signs don't really get compared too much. From what I read.... both of them are creatures of the Water. The Dragon rules over China, and the Ox rules over southern Asia..... like India for instance. Dragons seem to promote me in being more expressive.

And one more note.... Wood Dragons specificity..... Woah, what a trip! Too bad we are so far apart in age. They tickle me. Have gotten into 2 intense relationships with them. They are full of knowledge, and wisdom.

Intrigued by opposition? We thrive on it... Throw me an arguement and I'm like a rotweiller gnawing on your femur.. What is there to get enthused about in life other than fighting for the ideal?

I will argue my point until the break of dawn... and then some.
Dragons are intense, proud and extremely stubborn.. I really feel sorry for my high school teachers... a weyr of dragons to contend with! and Fire breathing ones at that!!

I'd love to argue with you until the break of dawn Allan!
Not in a bad way you understand, a battle of the wits involving on the spot poetry and verse and lots of wine quaffing!

Dragons respect the ox because from what I can gather the dragon is like a combo of the Leo/Aquarian zodiac signs... eccentric and a limelight lover...

The ox in contrast is steadfast and courageous... combined I'm sure an unstoppable force... The dragons would rule of course but would give the ox the respect well deserved for the brunt of the planning/work..

    Am I rambling?

    heehee

Dragons are karmatic animals, as are snakes so maybe the attraction is for mutual karma cleansing issues... or just a wild ride..........

Sounds to me as though Dragons drive other people away from them. Being a yin water serpent somewhat extreme as to always being "right" my situation is that people often do'nt "get it". The truth about life is we always ALWAYS get to live out the consequences of our actions. This is the "message" of the water serpent. Whether you are right or not you are "right". So in this there is no discussion you see. What you CAN do is listen to other people as they will tell you how your actions affect THEM. And avoid difficult people as I have found that people with different goals than this (maintaining honest and correct life and behavior) are very disruptive and argumentative. You have t realize some people are EVIL and insist upon it.
I suppose in the instance of genuine evil it would be ok to drive others away. So as not to get affected by it.

People rarely change or become something they are not you see. There is often no point trying to change them. Just avoid others with different goals than yours is what I do.

Thus the water serpent the "snake in the grass" tries to get people to see what they are REALLY doing, rather than what they THINK they are doing OR they really have no idea. This is NOT treachery but instinctual knowledge. People tend to recoil from it as if everyone really knew what they were really doing they would be aghast with themselves. Chinese astrology broaches the issue only begins to reveal the dynamics of human relationships.
Humans are emotionally very passionate ( if they are alive at all) and passion is of the flesh, and the flesh is weak. Thus the spirit controls the flesh in the more evolved humans. Weaker ones are the types that dissipate freely and without control, have cigarette and drug habits, and at worst they populate our jails. This is all genetically coded in as people act upon their genetics ALL the time. So discussions as to this or that being wrong or not are weak and fruitless at best you see because we are what we are.
Thus the serpent rises above such discussions which seem so life and death to oxen and dragons. He rules passion. Thus he rules karma. Apples anyone?

Not always. Use of drugs isn't always weak. Some people make a conscious decision to numb their senses, for various reasons...

            hey, Christopher

u seem to know a lot about Chinese Astrology. Just how important is your Day sign? I know I'm a Goat by day, but can't find any description for a day ascendant...

The day is the self. The hour is the aspiration or the ego drive. The self and the ego drive is consumed into evolving into the destiny which is the month of birth

If you want really good astrology always ask a serpent LOL at least one of a few sources as serpents usually make the best astrologers. It's just that in my instance I use astrology as a tool to explain what I know and understand or an astrological sign as an explanation of behavior I am aware of. Not the other way around. For instance today as a "tip" for a girl who cut my hair I told her her birth month in chinese astrology after she told me her year, her element, and that she was a yang. These things are what I see about people in much the same way that shakespeare understood human nature and expressed it in plays.....as I have the degree venus in gemini that shakespeare did.

Just look up the year of the goat and use that as an explanation of your "self". The year of birth is what we work with in life it is what our ancestors give us.
In my instance I am a Leo water serpent born on the day of the fire rat. Rat and serpent are the two most sucessful Leo placements. So I am always sucessful in what I do.

October is the month of the Dog... As far as the day, there are copious websites to calculate this. You can also find charts in order to calculate your ascendent online as well.

depends on what your horary/monthly ascendants are, allan. And of the Dragons in question. If you have a Monkey, or a Rat, or a Dragon horary ascendant it means you naturally relate to dragons...

I think Dragons are overrated, really. lol. Some of my oldest frieds have been Dragons(dunno why, but I can't make yin friends-maybe cause I'm all-yin in makeup?) and all they wanna do is party and have fun. That's it. And it's always about "happiness". They cannot give up this shitty ideal.

I guess it depends on the type of Dragons, as well. I grew up around Earth Dragons. Which was kinda cool, since I was just about always the only Snake in the class, and got my share of admiration...lol
Fire Dragons are the worst. Though it does depend a lot on other factors in astrology, all the Fire Dragons I've met were pretty goddamn immature and always looking forward to contradict for the sake of contradicting.

My mom is a Water Dragon, and she's probably the coolest Dragon I've met-charming, sociable, imposing respect but not bull-headed or aggressive, like most other Dragons.
Along with my headmistress in high school...another "Great Lady".

I disagree with the aquarius/leo characterizated of a dragon I think that would be more like a rooster, a dragon would be more like an aries/capricorn combo I think...

i am a fire dragon (and hey we're not that bad, as someone up above was trying to point out. rawr!!!).......and i am dating an ox. and there is MAJOR chemistry and attraction there. and this isnt a combo you hear much about, as the original post declared.......

i respect his down to earth-ness, and his solid, almost simple way of understanding things that i also understand, but in a dreamy dramatic all over the place kind of way. my ox understands the same things in a quick, solid, "of course" kind of way. i am really drawn to his mellow sultry humility and certainty........maybe because i can be pompous, extravagant and in general, sort of full of myself. and i like things to be complicated and exciting.......he is fine with me being this way, and i find that he balances out my fire.

Indeed. Well to earth elementals Fire Dragons are ok. Glad you have a good relationship. But as you put it you are overtly emotional and in fact are quite extroverted. That kind of behavior COULD turn off water elementals or definitely metal types. So don't look for those elementals among your friends. Also such overt behavior can VERY easily turn off such people who in life you may not wish to upset. What is the real message of chinese astrology and in fact life is to seek balance in all things miss fire dragon. Try to be a BALANCED person IF you really want to. If not then disregard what I am saying and go off and do whatever it is you like. Other than seek balance in life.
Imbalanced people are very irritating to some of the people all of the time. Try to keep this in mind. Because it is true. Of ANY zodiac sign.
And why I seek and maintain balance in life and disregard those who do not seek this as well.

wow, i was trying to respond to the original post (allan) re: the dragon and the ox.......and i feel like i got pscyhoanalyzed by you, christopher. seeking balance is something i do more than any other person i know......and i dont think its fair to project your personal experience (sounds like you have a preconceived notion of what a dragon is like and how they DONT work for you) onto me.......you dont even know me. yes i can be extroverted. but i can be very introverted too. yes i can be overly emotional, but i can also be one of the most patient and calm people i know. i am a dragon, no way around it, but i am also a self-aware, concientious person. i have tons of friends from every element and sign......i dont think its fair to say "look for friends like this....." this to me, is the problem with astrology. it tells us so much about a person, but its not everything........and though it seems like the fire dragon gets a bad rap from those who cannot handle us......there are those who find us pretty amazing creatures. so heres a tip for you, christopher.......try to find balance, but try to see the silver lining in people, dude!!

Ok lets put it this way. I'm glad you get along just fine. Just pointing out the weaknesses the fire dragon possesses. You took it personally somewhat. Which says to me that some of this is true in your case. Well in fact I'm very good at analyzing people, and you notice this too. No point in being too defensive. Usually Fire types do not work for me. There can be exceptions under some situations. In fact I am a fire rat day yin water serpent year Leo. Which means I have a strong internal fire myself. So I know something about being emotionally reserved as well. Silver Linings are ok if I do not have to go through dragon fire to get there. No thanks. I'm sure earth oxen work for you. I was born in the hour of the earth ox! Keep the relationship is my advice. You should also take my advice about treading lightly around metal types and watch the water types like me. Water traditionally and in fact controls fire. You might find I could easily control you. LOL. Had to laugh. O dragons work fine for me. If you check Leo serpent compatibilities. But I'm no fluff no buttercup myself miss. I control fire types. Even fire dragons. Call it social parameters of discord.
In other words I wish you well.

I'm a fire dragon, myself. My best friend is a water dog, and the vast majority of the women I have dated over the last several years have been water types as well (in one way, or another). Perhaps this can be attributed to the fact that I am a Metal Dragon (day), or a Metal Monkey *Hour)? Or, maybe it's the myriad different astrological and psychological/environemntal aspects of these individuals.... Just couldn't resist adding my two cents here. :D

Yes there are exceptions to everything which is why I have found much more sense working with compatibilities rather tyhan dragons get along with other dragons rats or monkeys as an example. The dragon force is the very force of the cosmos and one expression of it is a nuclear furnace. Such awesome power needs not to simply run wild. It needs to be moderated. Most Dragons are well aware of their power and do in some way control themselves. But my point to the lady was simply it cannot go unchecked. In fact I have met some dragons who have been very bull-headed and aggressive for no reason but to assert dominance. That I would not consider healthy behavior and was my reason for making a few points. The real thrust of which became diffused into ego issues. Lets put it this way. For instance I am quite a good shot with a rifle. Does that mean that I can go off and kill someone in order to assert my prowess?
This is not to say that dragons are killers. But to lavishly spread emotional terror due to strength is quite unacceptable societally.
This was my only meaning. Dragon power is the strongest of all. Next to Oxen Tigers and Snakes it stands alone quite fiercely.
I have some understanding of this being a fire rat day (self) with an earth oxen hour of birth (motivation). I usually lead the charge so to speak.

The reason for one to date metal types when they have fire and metal in their astrology IS because fire and metal make water! SO such a dragon attracts water types because he MAKES such women. Thus the definition of the term "on the make". LOL.

                        Fri, December 19, 2008 - 4:34 AM
Yin water serpent always appears as a snake in the grass because he always points out the REAL motivations behind human interaction. Which is always some reason and motivation. Which is why they "analyze" are great thinkers and often superb astrologers. As well as great diplomats.
Dragons must always realize their position in the cosmos and not abuse others in the process of being great. Thus the dragon can become TRULY great. Often with a wise serpent among their associates!

lol is all a matter of the two get along! I know lots of Snakes also..... And two of my Snake buds (fire snakies) tell me Dragons are a handful. It seems like those two are like best friends and enimes at the same time!

I know that I am born on the day of the water snake, and the hour of the snake.

For some reasons I do attract allot of snakes (Maybe because my mother is a Water Snake herself). And also because of being completement in element.

The other day 5 different Dragons came into this house. And now it seems to be a common occurance. I ask what is your Chinese Zodiac.... They say Dragon.

Im in a relationship with a Dragon myself. They are so lively and full of spirit. And they need management on their ideas lol. Holy begejueses, Dragons have wonderful ideas/skills that they cannot seem to see in themselves I noticed. Being the "greedy Oxen", I can see profit. hehe

                          Thank you Jens :)

I love people that are real..... Regardless if they may appear flashy or extravigant. I respect the few who have enough self-respect to be themselves. And if im not mistaken.... .Dragons can be the complete opposite..... Anti-social.... Cave dwellers, Hermit crabs!

im happy that you are able to see the positive qualities of the dragon, behind their outward showmanship. and yes, theres nothing like someone just being themself. not trying to tone anything down because someone else things they are "too much." because to someone else, that person may seem "just not enough," but being a dragon, i would never expect them to be something they are not. being real is the most important quality that i see in any other person.......and like you, i appreciate that even if someone is overwhelmingly outgoing or whatever. im a dragon, but can be very introverted, like you said. im the most extroverted when i can be completely free like at a playground or in the woods or camping......but lots of the time, i am a total cave dweller.......i love my quiet time at home!

                                              Interesting read, all --

Hugest mistake in any kind of Astrology? To over-simplify, and to think one sign or combination is always such-and-such. Basically, if an astrologer is saying that one thing is better than another... they aren't astrologers.

                                              Happy 2009, Everyone.

                                              =)
