The 5 Elements

I always thought that years that end in 0, 1 are Metal, those that end in 2, or 3 are Water, 4, or 5 are Wood, 6, or 7 are Fire, and 8, or 9 are Earth.

But now I bought this book that states 1989 was the year of the Wood Snake. At first I thought it was a printing error, but then I checked other signs and neither were in the order I knew them to be. 1988 was the year of the Wood Dragon, 1965 the year of the Fire Snake etc, etc..

It doesn't explain why, but I'm thinkin' the chick that wrote it must've been totally out of it...or? Dunno. What do you know about the elements?

may I ask where you got that from? You know, most Chinese astrology websites state that 1989 is the year of the Earth Snake.. I just checked..

Ok glad to be of help. BTW I am a yin water serpent July 1953 and a great astrologer. As well as other things. Eastern Astrology describes the dynamics of the self with others. Western Astrology focuses on the self. Combining the two is the next step in understanding god's will. Beyond this is divine knowledge. Exciting isn't it.
