I've done studying and have seen numerous websites speaking about chinese astrology but then I've also found websites and videos where chinese scholars in the subject explain it differently and make it sound more realistic. Then I spoke to my dad who mentioned something about Ley Lines and how they also play a part in how the chinese came to figuring it out. It's also connected with chakras and acupuncture as similar schools of thought. I'm willing to bet not many people here will have a clue where I'm coming from too....
