How important are these in chinese astrology? Shouldn't we only take into account the year we were born?

Re: Day, Month, and hour
Thu, June 19, 2008 - 5:21 PMOk. The day is the self. this is the equivalent of the sun in western astrology. Days have an element and a sign. The hour of birth is the ascendant. This is the superego the side of ourselves we show the world. The year of birth is the influence your ancestors have on you, the what of the individual. What you are is the year you were born. This also has an element a sign and a male or female designation.
For instance I am a yin (female) water serpent 1953 born in the hour of the ox 2am born on the day of the fire rat July 24th. I am a night black viper LOL. With a really tough aggressive nature (ox) and a really clever mind (fire rat). But you already know this about me LOL. -

Re: Day, Month, and hour
Thu, June 19, 2008 - 9:18 PMThanks for the input. I don't quite understand the ancestor part though. I do know that I was born in the year of the monkey, day of the sheep, month of the rabbit (or cat), and hour of the dog. I'm really interested in learning about the day I was born becuase it represents the self. -

Re: Day, Month, and hour
Fri, June 20, 2008 - 7:26 PMthe concept of the ancestor is simply what we are made of. The truth is what we are made of IS our ancestors. They are what we are! Hence the importance in eastern religion of ancestor worship! Also why we are what we are in Eastern astrology.

Re: Day, Month, and hour
Tue, July 15, 2008 - 11:44 PMVery nice Christopher, I like how you added the western.
Ive been working on some of this for my doctorate in Chinese Medicine.
The time of day you were born (two hour flux) represents your true nature/self. The month represented the person you were destined to become while the year was how you are perceived by others. You take who you are, with how you are perceived, to arrive at your destiny.
It's based on the Sun (day/night), Moon (month), Year (Venus).
Venus meets the Earth in alignment every 1.6 years forming a pentagram every 8 years. In that 8 years Venus sees 12 days (Earth and Venus seem to be locked into a 3:2 tidal resonance, in the shape of a pentagram) In 60 years Venus returns to its starting point. 12 animals with 5 elements.
What do you think of Female when Venus is in evening star and male in morning star? -

Sat, July 26, 2008 - 9:39 AMInput data sometimes warrant output data but it is in fact easy to tell the minute of the event even when you do not know the day of birth.
